Beginning a career with Shell in Nigeria, he progressed through various HR roles and accepted key international assignments, including re-engineering downstream operations in Malaysia (1994 - 1997) and leading global HR IT management in the Netherlands and oversaw 2,600 employees across six continents with a $20M budget. Returning to Nigeria, he led HR Function for Shell’s Deepwater exploration and production business while simultaneously serving as Regional Talent Officer for EP Africa.
After 24 years in the energy sector, he transitioned to Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) as its pioneer HR Director, where he built the HR and Administration functions from the ground up, resulting in recognition by Jobberman, which named them as the Most Exciting Workplace in 2017 and receiving CIPM's HR Best Practice awards in 2015 & 2016. Promoted to Chief Corporate Officer in 2019, he provided strategic leadership over Corporate Services including HR, Procurement, IT and Administration, while serving on multiple board committees and executive teams
Educational credentials include a BSc in Economics from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Nigeria, a PGD in Human Resource Management from the Kingston Regional Management Centre, UK and an MSc in Human Resource Management (2019) from the University of London, UK. He is an alumnus of executive education programmes in HRM, Strategy, Execution, Leadership and Coaching at London Business School, INSEAD, IMD, Cornell and the University of Pennsylvania Business School and is a Fellow and former President (2015-2017) of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
